Numer obecny przynosi de facto jeden materiał, a jest nim tłumaczenie z obszernymi
fragmentami oryginału jednego z najważniejszych dzieł teoretycznych z zakresu
retoryki, jakim jest traktat Q. Cornifi ciusa Rhetorica ad Herennium. Dzieło to powstało
w I w. pne. — kwestie tyczące autorstwa, wydań, zostały omówione w arytykule
J. Z. Lichańskiego O Q. Cornifi ciusie i jego dziele (Q. Cornifi cius and Rhetorica
ad Herennium: a few comments). Przy okazji warto zwrócić uwagę, iż w tym roku
ukaże się najnowsza edycja tego dzieła przygotowana przez Gualtiero Calboli’ego,
oraz mija 570 lat od wydania tego dzieła w Mediolanie, oraz 470 lat od kolejnej,
polskiej, edycji tegoż dzieła (w Krakowie, w drukarni Barbary Wietorowej).
Sam traktat jest podany w wersji dwujęzycznej; komentarz został ograniczony
do minimum, ponieważ istniejące wydania m.in. F. Marxa, H. Caplana,
S. Stabryły, G. Calboli’ego (oraz bogata literatura przedmiotu) pozwoliły Redakcji
na taką decyzję.
Dział recenzji przynosi notę na temat tomu: Philologie, herméneutique et histoire
des textes entre Orient et Occident. Mélanges en hommage à Sever J. Voicu,
Ed. par Francesca P. Barone, Caroline Macé et Pablo Ubierna, Brepols Publ., Turnhout
2017 [Instrumenta Patristica et Mediaevalia, t. 73]. Tom ten, przygotowany
w hołdzie Severowi Voicu, byłemu Scriptor Graecus w Bibliotece Watykańskiej
i profesorowi Istituto Patristico „Augustinianum” w Rzymie, gromadzi opinie na
temat patrystyki, wschodniego chrześcijaństwa, apokryfów Starego i Nowego Testamentu,
paleografi i i kodikologii.
Redaktorzy wyrażają nadzieję, iż, tak jak dotąd, kwartalnik będzie służyć integrowaniu
środowiska miłośników retoryki oraz propagowaniu tej wspaniałej
nauki. Zawsze jednak w duchu Platońskiej idei kalokagathia.

Th e present number brings de facto one material, and that is translation with fragments
of the original of one of the most important theoretical works in the fi eld
of rhetoric, which is the treaty Q. Cornifi ciusa Rhetoric ad Herennium. Th is work
was created in the fi rst century BC. — by-row issues, releases, are discussed in article
by J. Z. Lichański Q. Cornifi cius and Rhetoric ad Herennium: a few comments.
It is worth noting that this year will be released the latest edition of this work
prepared by Gualtiero Calboli and marks 570 years since the release of this work
in Milan, and 470 years of the next, the Polish edition of the same work (in Cracow,
Barbara Wietorowa’s printing house).
Th e treaty itself is given in a bilingual version; the commentary has been reduced
to a minimum because existing editions include F. Marx, H. Caplan, S. Stabryła,
G. Calboli (and rich literature on the subject) allowed the Editorial Offi ce
to make such a decision.
Th e section Reviews brings review of book: Philologie, herméneutique et histoire
des textes entre Orient et Occident. Mélanges en hommage à Sever J. Voicu, Ed.
par Francesca P. Barone, Caroline Macé et Pablo Ubierna, Brepols Publ., Turnhout
2017 [Instrumenta Patristica et Mediaevalia, t. 73]. Th is volume, in tribute
to Sever Voicu, former Scriptor Graecus at the Vatican Library and professor at
the Istituto Patristico “Augustinianum” in Rome, brings together contributions on
Patristics, Eastern Christianity, the Apocriphs of the Old and New Testaments,
Palaeography and Codicology.
Th e editors express the hope that the journal, as it has been so far, will serve to
integrate the rhetoric enthusiasts’ community and to propagate this great science.
Always, however, in the spirit of the Platonic idea of kalokagathia.
